Brewed up with a bolster or enhancer kit today. Was clicking about over on Home Brew Online and found the “Bolster Kit – For American Ales”, and thought why the heck not.
The American Ales Bolster kit includes Caramalt and Cascade Hops. All you need is to boil up some water seep half the Caramalt for about 30min mix it into what ever beer tin you had and then dry hob with the Cascades. It gives you enough to do two lots as there us 500g Caramats and two 20g Cascades hobs in tea bags.
I got a bit carried away when I mixed it all up with a tin of Coopers Australian Pale Ale and Spraymalt. I dummped in one of the tea bags in when there was about 10 min seeping time left.
So today’s “Enhanced Pale” brew looks like :
1 x Coopers Australian Pale Ale
1 x 500g Medium Spraymalt
250g Caramalt seeped for 30min
20g Cascade Hops seeped for 10min
2x 7g yeasties from various Coopers tins I had.
Brewed up 23 liters at OG 1030, which is the lowest I ever have had at about 24deg.
